Faith Tang

Author , Founder of Confidence Kits Collective & Lifora Global

I’m a Vancouver-based student, dedicated to sharing my journey in the hope of inspiring youth and individuals alike to discover confidence, courage, and self-acceptance.

Living with Nevus of Ota, a rare birthmark that made my face visibly different, left me feeling isolated rather than unique. This book is my story: a journey from shame to self-acceptance, from hiding to healing.

I share the ups and downs—times I tried to escape who I was, only to fall deeper into insecurity, and the moments of light when I found friendship, love, and a renewed sense of confidence. Along the way, I discovered ways not only to lift myself up but to support others facing their own battles.

My hope is that by reading this, you’ll see a part of your own story—and find the strength to embrace what makes you, you.

Growing Together

This book isn’t just my story—it’s a guide for anyone grappling with self-doubt, feeling different, or seeking confidence. Through honest reflection and personal experiences, it offers readers several valuable takeaways:

Learn that what makes you “different” can be your greatest strength

Discover hope in moments of struggle.

Discover ways to lift yourself up while helping those around you feel seen and valued.

Find joy in growth and self-discovery.

Connect and Inspire: Relate to real experiences and feel empowered.

About The Author

Born in Hong Kong and raised in the nature-rich regions of Vancouver, Canada. I’ve been passionate about art, painting, and writing from an early age, and enjoy spending time with my siblings. In addition to my creative pursuits, I hold a passion for basketball, golfing, and practicing taekwondo, in which I have a black belt.

My personal journey with insecurity and self-doubt inspired my first book, a reflection on self-acceptance and confidence. This experience also led to the founding of Confidence Kits Collective, a non profit organization that empowers teens facing self-doubt, or mental health challenges by delivering personalized “confidence kits” filled with peer-written encouragement, self-care tools, and coping resources. Designed by teens for teens. Through these experiences, I founded Lifora Global Mentorship Lab, a weekly program at the West Vancouver Community Centre where members receive mentorship, hear from young entrepreneurs and guest speakers, and are supported in creating their own initiatives—fostering a safe space for authentic connection and confidence-building.
